The statements which they made, while spiritually intoxicated or lost in union or annihilated in Allah were misinterpreted. Statements such as; "I am the Truth" or "Glory be to me!". The theologians and common people could not perceive the spiritual reality of these lovers of Allah. The Great Sufis themselves consider one to be a zindeeq if he claims that 'the slave is the Lord'. The Perfect Ones, the People of Blame, who are in utter bondage to Allah Almighty, observe perfect Spiritual Courtesy with their Lord. They say, 'The slave is the slave and the Lord is the Lord', no matter how close the two approach to each other. The People of Blame are the Men who are inwardly intoxicated and outwardly sober.
