jam'-i salamat
Sound Union
(Jam' Salamat). This is the union which Allah produces in His lover who is in ecstasy and rapture. In such a state Allah causes the lover to receive and fulfil His commandments.
(Raqs) is the rhythmic motion or whirling which may occur under the powerful influence of the spiritual concert. It is an outward sign which comes from submersion in the Remembrance of Allah.
(Jadhba). When, through His Infinite Grace, Allah draws or pulls His lover towards Himself, without any effort on the part of the lover, rapture and ecstasy are experienced. The Holy Prophet Muhammad (May the Salutations of Allah be upon him and Peace) said, "A single one of Allah's attractions equals all the work of jinn and men". During the divine rapture (jadhba), which overpowers the lover's heart, he becomes present with Allah.
(Hayaman). Hayaman is the ecstatic bewilderment which occurs when the heart of the lover of Allah is ravished through an excess of love of the Beloved.
(Al Muhaqqiqun). These great ones form the highest category of friends of Allah. They follow no one's authority because in themselves they have verified and realized [through unveiling and finding], the truth and reality of all things which is Allah, the Real. They are also known as'The People of Unveiling and Finding'.
