Confined

(Inhisar). To be confined. Everything is confined except the Essence Itself. The Essence never becomes manifest. Were It to become manifest It would be known. Were It known It would be encompassed which would limit It. Its limitation would lead to Its being confined (inhisar), and were it confined it would be owned. The Unknowable Essence is Exalted above everything.

(Dhat). The Essence. This is Allah in Himself without regard to His creations, His Attributes or His Names. The Essence is beyond knowledge or conceptualization. Allah warns us of this aspect of Himself. The Essence is Absolute Blindness, the Hidden of the Hidden, the Unknown of the Unknown. This is the World of Absolute Non-manifestation.
(Hadd). Limit or definition signifies the distinction between the slave and his Lord. After having emerged from the ecstasy of Union with the Beloved, the knower disciplines his self and sets limits upon it in order to hold tightly to the reins of perfect courtesy.
