Mash’aar al Haram
Sacred Monument

(Mash’aar al Haram). The Sacred monument at Muzdalifah. This is where the pilgrims spend the night after coming down from Arafat. "Then when you pour down from (Mount) Arafat, celebrate the praises of Allah at the Sacred Monument, and celebrate His praises as He has directed you, even though, before this, you went astray" (2:198). "So when ye have accomplished your holy rites, celebrate the praises of Allah, as ye used to celebrate the praises of your fathers,- yea, with far more Heart and soul" (2:200). In the higher teaching, the completion of the rites in a manner pleasing to Allah is an indication to the satisfying of the desires of the people of nearness.
